Classical music for babies will be performed live at the Careum Auditorium in Zurich on December 19, 2026, at 12:15 pm. (This is the second...) Candlelight Babies Today's concert features the More Than Classic Duo performing Brahms' Lullaby, Saint-Saëns' Swan, and Vivaldi's Winter. The quiet, warm atmosphere is perfect for this time of year.

Babies perceive music with their whole bodies: they hear the sounds, see the candles, and feel their parents' closeness. That's why the room is set up so you can move around freely. The lunchtime session is also suitable for families traveling from out of town. Zurich come and want to spend the following day in the city.

Classical music for babies: quiet, close and live

Most children are familiar with music from a loudspeaker. Live instruments played from just a few meters away are something else entirely. At this concert on December 19th at 12:15 pm, the little ones will hear how sounds are created in the room and see the musicians at work. This sparks curiosity, all without having to sit still.

The program of More Than Classic Duos lasts 45 minutes and alternates between calm and lively pieces. Mozart's Eine kleine Nachtmusik is followed by Boccherini's Passacalle and Saint-Saëns' Swan. The program also includes "Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush," a song parents can gently rock their child to.

How to spend the day in Zurich

The midday appointment is convenient if you're traveling from out of town: you arrive in the city in the morning without any rush and still have time to explore the Christmas markets afterwards. Entry to the Careum Auditorium The event at Pestalozzistrasse 11 starts at 11:45 am.

Questions that parents often ask

What happens when my baby cries? That's part of the experience at this concert. Nobody expects absolute silence.

Is a second adult allowed to come along? Yes, with a ticket for accompanying persons or the family package.

Are there assigned seats? You choose your own place in the movement room; adults sit on tatami mats.

When this appointment is particularly worthwhile

The midday session is ideal for children who have already had a nap in the morning and are now awake and curious. Those who prefer to arrive earlier can also attend the concert at 10:30 a.m. on the same day. Both sessions have the same program and take place in the same location. Early booking is recommended, as space in the activity room is limited.

Would you like to listen to a preview? You're probably already familiar with many of these pieces, and that's precisely why it's easy for parents to relax together with their child to this music.

We look forward to experiencing this concert with you – see you soon at More Than Classic!
