Irina Pak brings together the elegance and expressive power of the classical violin with the freedom to imagine music beyond the familiar. Her instrument is her voice – in the great concert halls and in musical worlds of her own making.
On acoustic and electric violin, she combines virtuosity with a keen spirit of experimentation. Emotional depth, vibrant energy and a radiant stage presence shape her playing. As a violinist and the founder and artistic director of More Than Classic, she creates concert experiences in which music meets light art and classical works find unexpected companions. Her curiosity grows from a deep connection to classical music.
Her performances have taken her to the Berlin Philharmonie, the Vienna Musikverein and the Alte Oper Frankfurt. Success in international competitions marked the early years of her musical career. She studied with Zakhar Bron and Ulrich Gröner and is a member of the first violin section of the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich.
Her festival appearances include Palermo Classica, Puplinge Classique and Les Classiques de Villars. At Septembre Musical Montreux-Vevey in 2025, she joined Aleksey Igudesman and Ekaterina Shelehova in “Fasten Seat Belts”, a programme combining virtuosity, musical storytelling and humour. Her involvement in Igudesman’s The Limitless Orchestra offers another outlet for her versatility, bringing together diverse musical traditions, improvisation and theatrical flair.
Through More Than Classic, Irina Pak develops her ideas from the first musical spark to the staged performance. She devises programmes, creates arrangements and personally guides audiences through the evening. One question runs through her work: what can happen when we listen to familiar music with fresh ears? Her concerts invite audiences to be moved, to stay curious and to welcome the unexpected.
