About us

More Than Classic is Zurich-based association, led by the artistic director and violinist Irina Pak. Since our foundation in 2017, our motivation has been: innovation, moments and emotions.

We are not just professional musicians — we are storytellers. Through music, light, and visuals, we create immersive concerts and live shows that blend the timeless beauty of classical music with the energy of pop, rock, film, anime, and more.

Our performances go beyond the concert hall. From churches and museums to botanical gardens, corporate stages, and family events, we bring music into unexpected spaces, making it fresh and accessible.

We have collaborated with Projektil Experience, Fever Up Candlelight, TEDx, Hauser & Wirth, Maag Halle Zurich, the FIFA Museum, Zurich Airport, Mainau Island (DE), BMX artist Chris Böhm, and others — projects that continue to grow and inspire.

Our vision: to challenge tradition and connect with today’s audiences through creativity, innovation, and emotion.

 More Than Classic is more than just a concert organizer – we are storytellers through sound, light, and emotion. Based in Switzerland, we create immersive concerts, light show performances, and live experiences that blend the timeless beauty of classical music with the energy of modern styles and innovative visual storytelling.

Our productions fuse classical music with Pop, Rock, Film music, Anime music, and more, resulting in unforgettable crossover performances that resonate with diverse audiences. We bring music to unexpected venues – from planetariums, churches, and botanical gardens to museums, corporate events, and family-friendly settings.

More Than Classic stands for a new approach to classical music and cultural events, led by the artistic director and violinist Irina Pak. Since our foundation in 2017, our motivation has been: innovation, moments and emotions. We have initiated innovative projects in collaboration with TEDx, Hauser & Wirth, Maag Halle Zurich, the Fifa Museum, Zurich Airport, Verkehrshaus Planetarium in Lucern, Mainau Island (DE), with BMX artist Chris Böhm and others. These projects have gained momentum and have been developed further.

“In the symphony of life, every note resonates with a story. Through More Than Classic, we bring these stories together, weaving music with the vibrant threads of art, sports, and technology to create a harmonious tapestry rich in culture and diversity. Let’s take an inspiring journey through music, culture, and harmony.”

Our Goals

The aim is to inspire audiences with unique and high-quality musical experiences. We develop innovative concert formats and programs that are new in this form. Innovation, unforgettable moments, and emotions are at the heart of our events.

In terms of content, we play with interdisciplinary combinations of music and other art forms, but also with non-artistic activities such as new technologies, sport, travel and food, and sometimes also choose unusual performance venues. Our concerts are an invitation to everyone who wants to experience “More Than Classic”.

Our Mission

At More Than Classic, we believe in the power and beauty of classical music. It brings strangers and friends together, it touches people to their core, it is a source of joy and imagination.

That’s why we want to make the experience of classical music unifying, relevant and accessible for today’s generations of concertgoers. We want to bring music to the people, with their changed listening, viewing and reception habits. In doing so, we rethink the concert format, surprising people with innovative ideas, unusual combinations, and diverse stories.

Our Musicians

At the heart of every performance are our world-class musicians. We collaborate with internationally acclaimed artistsfrom across the globe, including:

  • String ensembles – from duo, string quartet to full string orchestra;
  • Pianists and keyboardists – classical, crossover, and experimental;
  • Percussionists – both acoustic and electronic;
  • Electro instruments – including e-violin, e-viola, e-cello, e-guitar, and more;
  • Jazz, pop, and classical vocalists;
  • Soloists – violin, e-violin, percussion, piano, vocals, and beyond.

Their virtuosity, passion, and stage presence bring every performance to life – from intimate chamber formats to large-scale, multimedia crossover productions.
