Candlelight: Best of Bridgerton on Strings – Bern, April 19

The Candlelight series welcomes audiences to the Französische Kirche (French Church) in the very centre of Bern, where the innovative Zurich‑based ensemble More Than Classic transforms the historic space into an intimate concert hall. The Französische Kirche is the city’s oldest church and dates from a Dominican monastery founded in 1269; it was built between 1270 and 1285, became a place of worship for French‑speaking Protestants in 1623 and still retains its rare frescoed rood screen from 1495. Inside, a central nave without transept, Medieval wall paintings and stained glass windows create a peaceful ambience, while the baroque/neo‑classical façades and serene interior have made it a popular live‑music venue.
