As part of AURORIUM - Enlightment we present you an exclusive live concert by More than Classic, in which Vivaldi's Four Seasons in a completely new version merges with improvisations and imaginative melodies by violin and accordion with the immersive show of the artist collective Projektil from Zurich will.
AURORIUM - Enlightment takes the viewer on a spectacular rollercoaster of emotions. The 45-minute performance pays homage to the cycle of life and ends in a gripping and surprising finale. Enlightment is an audiovisual metamorphosis of spring, summer, autumn and winter and makes you forget the cold days in no time.
Also present is Irina Pak, principal violinist in the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra and artistic director of More than Classic. The musician creates music in inspiring places and spaces with the highest standards and in all its facets. This creates not only priceless moments but also unforgettable experiences and emotions.
Her stage partner is a well-known accordionist Oleg Lips. Oleg plays all keyboard instruments (accordion, piano, organ, keyboard and Schwyzerörgeli) and is known for his wide repertoire of classical music, musette, tango, jazz and folk music. He has made a name for himself as a virtuoso and brilliant musician.
MEET THE PERFORMING ARTISTS
IRINA PAK, VIOLIN
Making music and interacting with the audience is Irina's great passion and gives her the opportunity to express herself in the language she speaks best: music. Versatility and innovation play a key role in her artistic self-image. She plays baroque repertoire with the same dedication as that of the 20th century. Century and is at the same time open to cross-style, unconventional concepts.Irina was born in 1986 to Korean parents in Siberian Novosibirsk. Inspired by her mother and sister, she took up the violin at an early age and studied music in Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg and Zurich. Among other things, she graduated from the ZHdK, where she studied with Prof.Z. Bron and U. Gröner graduated with distinction. At the same time, Irina was able to celebrate great success in numerous competitions, such as K. Lipinski & H. Wieniawski. As a soloist, she performed with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the Berlin Camerata and the KKO Mannheim, among others. Appearances have taken her to the Berlin Philharmonie, AlterOper Frankfurt, the Wiener Musikverein and to festivals such as Palermo Classica or Les Classiques de Villar
​Irina plays 1st violin in the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra. She has also played with stars such as "Gotthard", Rod Stewart, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, David Garrett, Helene Fischer and Eminem. Irina is the founder, vice president and artistic director of the More thanClassic association. In this context, she can realize innovative projects such as BMX meets Violin, Immersive Classic in cooperation with Projektil. In addition, she directs the Zurich Virtuosi Ensemble and, as a council member of the Petersburg Foundation, supports the promotion of young Russian musical talent. Irina has been teaching her private violin class in Zurich since 2009.
OLEG LIPS
OLEG LIPS, accordion
Born in St. Petersburg in 1966, he has been playing the accordion since he was 6 years old. From 1973 to 1980 he studied at the Mussorgskij Muiskakademie and in 1992 obtained the teaching, conducting and expert diploma at the St. Petersburg Academy of Music. In 1990 he became a member of the concert organization St. Petersburg and Kazanskij Sobor. Tours have taken him throughout Russia, to Germany, Spain, Poland and France. He acted in Zurich in witches, men's songs with Christine Lather and Trio Tüsel, the big book at the theater spectacle, the case in the even theater and night shelter by M. Gorki in the Zurich theatre. He also worked with the Basel Sinfonietta and the Saarland University Orchestra. Since 1998 he has been a member of the trio Gli Artigiani. Together they performed in Japan and produced «Signore Rossini & Co». Since 2016 he has been organist in the Evangelical Reformed Church in Oberglatt and has lived in Lobsigen, BE since October 2018.
