IRINA PAK, VIOLIN

Making music and interacting with the audience is Irina's great passion and gives her the opportunity to express herself in the language she speaks best: music. Versatility and innovation play a key role in her artistic self-image. She plays baroque repertoire with the same dedication as that of the 20th century. Century and is at the same time open to cross-style, unconventional concepts.Irina was born in 1986 to Korean parents in Siberian Novosibirsk. Inspired by her mother and sister, she took up the violin at an early age and studied music in Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg and Zurich. Among other things, she graduated from the ZHdK, where she studied with Prof.Z. Bron and U. Gröner graduated with distinction. At the same time, Irina was able to celebrate great success in numerous competitions, such as K. Lipinski & H. Wieniawski. As a soloist, she performed with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the Berlin Camerata and the KKO Mannheim, among others. Appearances have taken her to the Berlin Philharmonie, AlterOper Frankfurt, the Wiener Musikverein and to festivals such as Palermo Classica or Les Classiques de Villar

Irina plays 1st violin in the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra. She has also played with stars such as "Gotthard", Rod Stewart, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, David Garrett, Helene Fischer and Eminem. Irina is the founder, vice president and artistic director of the More thanClassic association. In this context, she can realize innovative projects such as BMX meets Violin, Immersive Classic in cooperation with Projektil. In addition, she directs the Zurich Virtuosi Ensemble and, as a council member of the Petersburg Foundation, supports the promotion of young Russian musical talent. Irina has been teaching her private violin class in Zurich since 2009.
